Redirects

Redirects are pages created to assist in the searching of pages. When you create a redirect, use this formula:

#REDIRECT [[PAGENAME]]

However, a redirect is not always necessary. Here is a set of guidelines of when and when not to create redirects. The staff reserve the right to delete a redirect they deem unnecessary.

When not to create a redirect:

1) Pointless redirect pages (i.e. redirecting to your own userpage).

2) All pages are non-case sensitive. This means if you search for "meltdown," it will send you to Meltdown. If you put "MELTDOWN," you get Meltdown. Redirecting to correct capital letters is unnecessary.

3) No alternative spellings need to be redirects, unless that spelling is used frequently. For instance, "Vapour" will redirect to "Vapor", as "Vapour" is used on the set itself, though the officially designated name is "Vapor".

When it is acceptable to create a redirect:

1) A "filler" name forwarding to the official name.

2) Several names on ONE page. For example, "Preston" and "Stormer" both redirect to "Preston Stormer".

3) Aliases or former names ("Von Ness" will redirect to "Von Nebula").

Linking

In order to avoid cluttering up pages with multiple links to the same page, only one link may be present per page. This does not apply to templates, both inclusive (Ones using the standard "Template:Template" style, typically Navigational templates) and coded ones (Infobox templates).
