Savage Planet is the sixth Hero Factory comic. It was based off the script for the sixth television episode called Episode 6: Savage Planet Part 1. It was made by LEGO, and published by DC Comics. The comic is directly followed by Comic 7: Savage Planet 2.

Plot Summary

Rocka 2.0 is flying to Quatros in order to respond to a distress call from Aldous Witch, who had previously reported that he had crashed on the planet. Rocka finds Witch's ship, but there is no sign of Witch himself. As he moves closer to check Witch's ship, he is ambushed. In Hero Factory, Preston Stormer reports to William Furno, Dunkan Bulk, Jimi Stringer, and Julius Nex that Rocka is missing on Quatros. Stormer explains the nature of Quatros, and the Heroes undergo a process similar to the Upgrade, acquiring animal-like tools and armor. Whilst flying in to Quatros, Stormer notices how strange the planet looks, but Stringer confirms that it is Quatros, explaining that the reason for the change is because someone is mining the Quaza from the planet. Just after they have landed, Stormer tells Nex that Witch was his professor at Hero Factory who was exiled after he tried to implant himself with a Hero Core. Nex finds an injured Rocka, who tells Stormer that Witch Doctor attacked him. Furno scans around for any sign of Witch, and realizes that he is near. Furno tries to attack Witch, but the roots that are covering the jungle floor move to trip him up. He tries to attack again, but Witch dodges. Witch Doctor dismisses the Heroes as beneath him; as he is given power through the Quaza that will allow him to defeat the Heroes easily. He flees, just as Stringer and Nex appear to support Furno. As they discuss what to do next, a Raw-Jaw, a Fangz, and a Waspix appear and attack them.

Trivia

  • Comic 6 was available in a co-pack purchase of Rise of the Rookies and Savage Planet at Walmart retail stores. The comic was released in July 2011 while the television episode that it is based on was released in September 2011.
  • Despite Rocka's 3.0 form being shown in the cover, he did not have his form in the comic itself.
  • The comic is only based on the first half of the episode.
  • The comic has some differences from the episode:
    • The comic is a short version of the episode, as it does not have Nathaniel Zib, Quadal, the game of Robo-Ball, the Heroes talking about Rocka's early life, the scene where Witch Doctor uses his Fangz guards to attack Rocka, and the flashback about Aldous Witch's exile. Also, much of the Heroes' activities in their Drop Ship in the episode is not present in the comic.
    • Rocka's 2.0 form looks different. In the comic, Rocka looks somewhat like Bumblebee from the live-action Transformers movies and a Transformers television series called Transformers Prime. In the episode, his helmet looks like a mix of Natalie Breez's and Mark Surge's 2.0 helmets. Rocka's 2.0 form never had its own set, anyway.
    • In the episode, Stringer and Bulk had 2.0 forms, but in the comic, they were in their 1.0 forms. This is because their 2.0 forms never had their own sets, and the two Heroes' 1.0 sets were only available for the artist as references.
    • In the comic, Stringer told Stormer about Quatros' disturbing new appearance, but in the episode, it was Nex who told Stormer.
    • In the comic, when Furno tries to attack the Witch Doctor, the Witch Doctor controlled plants in Quatros to stop Furno, but in the episode, the Witch Doctor uses his staff to hit Furno by hitting him. The Witch Doctor's ability to control plants is likley not canon.
    • In the comic, a Fangz was among the Waspix and the Raw-Jaw, but in the episode, it was a Scorpio who was with them.
    • Many quotes in the episode are different from the ones in the comic.
