Thanks for doing so much excellent work related to the Hero Factory books. I know my own pages were way too in depth-- that's part of why I stopped trying to finish them. =P I knew other editors could write them a lot better and more efficiently than I could.--external image|Talk|Contributions 10:01, 29 December 2012 (PST)

Banners

We could probably make up stuff for History of HF, but the OoF one is a stumper. Any other way to look at old web pages besides the wayback machine? I'm not particularly good with Google cache, so I don't even know if that's an option. external image Dorek 16:18, 2 January 2013 (PST)

Brain Attack (Game)

I have the game on my iPhone, so if you need any help with it, I can oblige. --KZN02, The Master of Tediousness (Talk|Contribs) 17:35, 5 January 2013 (PST)

If you could beat Wave 20 of City Streets or figure out how, that would be awesome. Lord Nektann
I think that's endless. --KZN02, The Master of Tediousness (Talk|Contribs) 11:20, 6 January 2013 (PST)
Okay, so if it its, will future updates unlock more levels? Or maybe the iOS version is just City Streets. Lord Nektann
Probably, I mean there's much of Makuhero City that's unavailable at the moment, since the City Streets are on the left side. In the meantime, I'm going for 3 stars in every level and getting every body type and weapon. --KZN02, The Master of Tediousness (Talk|Contribs) 17:09, 7 January 2013 (PST)

Set Numbers

The reason I put set numbers in the image names of set images is because it makes it a lot easier to be consistent about naming set images. For instance, one of the images I deleted yesterday was called "CGI Breez", which has a number of problems. First of all, it doesn't specify which Breez character design it's depicting, and second, the vast majority of pictures of Breez are CGI regardless of whether they're set images, images from the TV show, images from online games, etc. Using the set number clarifies that it's a picture of a set, and furthermore gives a bit of insight into WHICH set it's a picture of (of course, in this case, the image was arguably NOT a set image, and so a better title could have been used-- the overly vague "CGI" designation wouldn't cut it, though).

Also, unless set numbers start to be reused, then this notation will never be out-of-date, unlike if we had just called the Breakout set images "Breez Pose.jpg" and then had to come up with a different name for the Brain Attack version. If we used initialisms like "BA", then not only would we run the risk of a later series also being abbreviated the same way, but it would be indistinguishable from episode screenshot image names.

As far as "file names no one will see" is concerned, I disagree. It makes it much easier to find images of a particular set if you can search by the set number. Even typing "File:4400" into the search box will bring up a drop-down menu with all the 2013 set images we have so far. That's helpful, IMO, especially since you can more or less tell exactly what each image is from the title alone instead of having to visit each Breez page to find the right version of Breez.

So yeah, my aim is just to be consistent. I don't think it really does that much harm as far as editing is concerned, since you can really just copy and paste the image title regardless of its length/complexity. And in fact it makes it easier for me to remember image names when they follow consistent rules.--external image|Talk|Contributions 07:23, 27 January 2013 (PST)

Also, thanks so much for getting the images I uploaded yesterday onto galleries. Really I'm only editing here in between working on homework assignments so I haven't been able to be as thorough about that as I probably should. But you've done a good job with that.--external image|Talk|Contributions 07:25, 27 January 2013 (PST)

New Equipment

It's kind of vague in the book, but the way Breez uses her weapons doesn't seem to fit the description of the Hex Energy Shield and her dual sword. It's possible that the new weapons aren't part of the upgrade, or that she is using entirely different equipment in this book. Regardless, just assuming it's her Hex Energy Shield doesn't seem too reliable.

Rocka's a different case. It's almost certain that he has his new equipment in this book, given that he's described as having a sword and a shield that he throws at one point (not a way the Hex Energy Shield is known to work). But of course he could have gotten his upgrade sooner as a part of Hero Recon Team, just as he did in the Breakout special (his new weapons are described in his shop.LEGO.com summary as "Hero Recon Team equipment").

I really wish Greg would be a little less vague about the way he writes weapons in the Hero Factory books... but it's not like it hurts the storyline; it just makes our jobs a little harder.--external image|Talk|Contributions 12:10, 30 January 2013 (PST)

Also, on a more obvious note I should have picked up on, her hex energy shield has no blades, and she was using her lance in that scene (if you're talking about the events on page 120).--external image|Talk|Contributions 12:13, 30 January 2013 (PST)

AU Characters

Good stuff, good stuff. In the spirit of me doing things hilariously different... do you think we should make separate pages for Alternate Universe characters? I guess unlike BIONICLE, all of these characters are directly interacting with the story. We could make separate templates or whatever. external image Dorek 16:56, 6 May 2013 (PDT)

I think there's enough info to merit a separate page. I mean we've got shorter pages, like Mechna. ---- Creepa Demon
