Features
The set features a Plasma Gun and Hero Cuffs. It also has five Scout Drones, which can be detached from Stormer's armor armor to represent them flying. On the box's front art's background shows Speeda Demon, Stormer's targeted villain from the Speeda Demon set and who is riding a Nitro Rocket Motorbike, in Kollix IV.
Collectibles
The set includes a white helmet and a Hero Core. Stormer's chest armor and left leg armor, and the Scout Drones have various stickers, all from one sticker sheet. Printed underneath the Core is a code called a Hero Code, which could be entered in an online game called Breakout in HeroFactory.com in 2012, to earn 500 Hero Points.

- Stormer's helmet is the same as the one in 7164 Preston Stormer.
- Stormer XL is the only 2012 Hero set to not use the new torso piece in the 2012 set year.
