Plot

The Breakout

The villains are seen in their cells as William Furno and Daniel Rocka, with the latter having gotten a new upgrade, lead Voltix through the storage facility to put him in his new cell. Furno congratulates Rocka for the capture and says that Makuro would give Rocka a commendation when he gets back to Makuhero City, Rocka describes his capture, saying that with the new upgrade, it was almost too easy. Rocka and Furno notice Von Nebula's Black Hole Staff, and Voltix creates an electrical projection of Von Nebula that breaks the staff's orb-like part, causing it to break through the ceiling and create a black hole. The black hole causes all of the laser bars on fronts of the villains' cells to shut down, and the villains escape in a breakout. Rocka and Furno go to stop the villain from escaping. Preston Stormer, Mark Surge, Jimi Stringer and Nathan Evo arrive to help the two Heroes, and shortly after arriving, Stormer asks them what is the situation. Furno reports it. The Heroes are unable to capture any villains, as all of the villains escape. Evo wants to chase them into the black hole, but Stormer stops him because Evo does not have enough experience to go with his instincts like this, and Stormer tells Evo to think it through. After the villains escaped, Evo panicks, which annoys Stormer, so Stormer scolds Evo to calm down. Evo feels bad about it. Then, all of the Heroes are told to report to Mission Command via the intercom. Furno lets Evo know that he is always able to give him any advice he needs, and then walks into a door. When the Heroes have left the Storage Facility, Black Phantom and his drone called Arachnix drop from the hole in the roof.

When the heroes reach Mission Command, Nathaniel Zib tells them that all of the villains have escaped, but they can be found easily because of tracking chips that were implanted during their processing. He then tells the Heroes that because such a large amount of villains have escaped, they will be sent individually to capture one villain each. He referred to this mission as "Catch 'Em and Cuff 'Em". He is then brought a new set of Hero Cuffs, which will be given to the Heroes, by Quadal. Zib tested the Cuffs on Surge. He then tells the Heroes what upgrades they shall be getting, and which villain they shall be catching. Stormer is told that he shall be upgraded with an Ultra Mach Speed Cycle and Modular Scout Drones, for use in capturing Speeda Demon. Furno is upgraded with an Aqua Jet Pack and a Hydra Harpoon for catching Jawblade. Evo is upgraded with Anti Toxic Armour and a Tank Arm, which are resistant against Toxic Reapa's toxins. Surge is issued Dual Plated Impact Armour and Alpha Magnetic Gravity boots, in order to catch Splitface in zero gravity. Stringer is given a Quad Amplitude Mega Decibel Sound Blaster to combat Voltix. All of the Heroes got the same upgrade as Rocka's as the result, though Stormer also got an XL form. When Rocka is standing rather than going after a villain, Zib asks Rocka if he was given a mission, but Rocka says that he decided to stay at Hero Factory, in order to be security. Zib questions who gave him those orders, but is then called away to help direct launches. The Heroes use their Hero Pods to get to their destinations, with Daniela Capricorn doing a news report on this.

Capricorn then shows Stormer on Kollix IV after he arrives there. Stormer immediately finds a visual on Speeda Demon, and begins to chase him. He realizes that Speeda Demon is heading for the Stellar Navigation System. Stormer then catches up to Speeda Demon, and they begin combat whilst still on their bikes.

Stormer chasing Speeda Demon

Evo searches for Toxic Reapa on Z'chaya, seeing cocoons of Toxic Reapa's species, he contacts Furno for advice. He wants to destroy them, but Furno believes that he could release them if he tries. Toxic Reapa then appears, and Evo begins to fight him. He throws his Hero Cuffs, but they miss, and return to him.

The episode then cuts to Stringer and Voltix by Tansari VI’s energy collection array. He is harnessing the power to create a weapon. Stringer finds him moving energy storage cells, and throws his Hero Cuffs, but Voltix shocks them away, rendering them useless. A gunfight ensues, and Stringer notices that his Cuffs aren't returning to him.

Meanwhile, Furno is underwater on the planet Scylla, and looking for Jawblade. Jawblade finds Furno easily, as Furno was making a large amount of noise. Furno throws his Cuffs, but discovers they don't work underwater, and just float slowly towards Jawblade.

Surge is on the Sigma Sigma Communications Satellite, where he has tracked Splitface to somewhere in the asteroid belt. Surge sees a massive asteroid, which he begins to travel to by jumping between asteroids. He then finds Splitface, who is having an argument with himself. Surge is then attacked and flung into space.

Meanwhile, Stormer is still chasing Speeda Demon, and fires his drones. They target Speeda Demon, but they ultimately miss, and are destroyed when Speeda Demon rides through a tunnel. Whilst Speeda Demon was distracted, Stormer managed to catch up with him and overtake him.

Back on Tansari VI, Stringer is looking for his hero cuffs. When he is attacked by Voltix, he sees them, and runs to grab them. Voltix begins to absorb energy from the lightning, and shoots Stringer, causing him to have an electric shock.

Meanwhile, Surge is floating around space, and fortunately finds his Cuffs. He begins travelling back to the asteroid, where Splitface is still arguing with himself. Surge shoots Splitface, and a fight begins. He takes out his Electricity Shooter, and begins to fire at Splitface. He is shot by Splitface's Infecticide, and is thrown in to space. He then finds himself on the massive asteroid, which is heading towards the shield.

Arachnix attacking Zib

At this time, back at the Hero Factory, Zib and Quadal notice that no villains went into hiding, and the villains are doing their various schemes. The duo feel like it is part of a coordinated, larger plan. Suddenly, a large group of Arachnix drones appear, and take all of Hero Factory's Mission Managers and Quadal as prisoners. Then, Black Phantom appears and indtroduces himself and Arachnix. He takes over Hero Factory, and locks all the doors, locking Rocka in the Villain Storage Facility. He then puts up the Fail-Safe Shield, locking everyone out of the Hero Factory. Capricorn, who is contacting her coworker through a cell phone, notices the shield activating, so she makes a report about it.

Trivia

  • XPlode, Corroder, Meltdown, Thunder, Rotor, Fire Lord, Drilldozer, Jetbug, Nitroblast, and Witch Doctor made silent cameos in this episode. Also, more escaped villains have reused animation models that look like the aforementioned villains, but how these villains look in the episode is non-canon.
  • Von Nebula only appeared as a projection made by Voltix in a silent cameo in this episode.
  • Many Fangz, Waspix, Scorpio, and Raw-Jaws made silent cameos in this episode, but these are actually reused animation models from the Quatros Beasts and for more of the escaped villains, as the beasts are never villains, so how these villains look in the episode is non-canon, and the beasts being in there is also non-canon.
  • Vapor, Thornraxx, Core Hunter, XT4, Natalie Breez, Dunkan Bulk, and Julius Nex did not appear in the episode for some reason.
  • Unlike Episodes 1-7, this episode does not have a comic based on its script, neither is it featured in a DVD for some reason. It is not featured in iTunes for some reason, either.
  • Unlike Episode 6: Savage Planet Part 1 and Episode 7: Savage Planet Part 2, this episode and Episode 9 use word versions of the Savage Planet episodes' title's numbers instead of the numbers themselves for some reason.
  • Unlike the Savage Planet episodes, Rocka's first name, "Daniel", is not credited in the end credits for some reason.
  • In Episode 5: Ordeal of Fire, Evo was calm and mostly silent, and he was voiced by Tom Kenny. However, in this episode, Evo is unsure and talkative, and is voiced by a different voice actor. Reasons for the changes are unknown. However, the Hero Factory guidebook called Face Off: Makuro's Secret Guidebook may explain Evo's change in personality, but it is not completely clear. This episode and Episode 9 give Evo more character than his role in Episode 5.
  • Daniela Capricorn's name in the end credits is misspelled as "Daniella Capricorn".
  • When Stormer was looking at a hole in Villain Storage, his back armor, which is a Multi-Tool Ice Shield piece, disappeared.
  • There is an error where when a scene where Furno's Plasma Gun and left arm armor is being, another scene where Aquajet Pack is being placed happened after this and did not include the gun and left arm armor. It should be the other way around.
  • Capricorn breaks the foruth wall, as when she witnesses the Heroes using their Hero Pods to leave the Hero Factory, she tells the viewers that she and her news company "will be back after these commercial messages". After the commercial break, Capricorn tells the viewers about Stormer doing his mission on Kollix IV.
  • Despite the end credits showing Mr. Makuro's name and actor, the character did not actually appear in the episode, neither did his actor voiced him there. Mr. Makuro's name was only mentioned in the episode. He actually appeared in the next episode and was voiced by his actor there.
