We Who Serve is a group of three robots who work as local officials in a planet in the Omega system.

History

At some point, members of We Who Serve were built. They formed the group of local officials in a planet in the Omega system. They started managing the planet's city's large bank. They let residents of planets all over a quadrant leave their valuables here, and had a good reputation. We Who Serve only show the building to visitors while they keep the items underground, below the building.

Seven years ago, a villain called Core Hunter snuck into the bank's government vault, stole a piece of the Doom Box, and broke out of the bank, We Who Serve became worried about their reputation and called Hero Factory to stop Core Hunter and return the item to save their reputation. The Hero Factory dispatched the Hero Dunkan Bulk to do the mission. When Bulk arrived at the bank with his Drop Ship, We Who Serve greeted him with their language while Bulk used a device called a Translator to become able to understand them. We Who Serve had Bulk follow them through the streets and to the bank. We Who Serve opened a hatch to the underground vault to allow Bulk to follow them there. When the four came to the vault, We Who Serve explained Bulk the crime. Bulk inspected the crime scene and deduced that, since the security in the bank is designed to keep people from getting inside the vault, but not getting out, the thief had to sneak inside some other way. This made We Who Serve feel ashamed of themselves. They had Bulk look over their pocket scanner, which stated that the vault stored a small amount of precious gems, a crate of valuable machine parts, and what appeared to be a broken piece of something or other (the piece of the Doom Box). Bulk deduced that the valuable machine parts were actually the thief having been disassembled. He stated that somebody dismantled the thief, put him in a crate, and got him stored in the vault. When the time was right, the thief reassembled himself, stole his wanted item, and broke out. We Who Serve started thinking about putting new security procedures to stop this from happening again. When Bulk noticed a Hero Core left behind by the thief as a calling card, he theorized that the thief was Core Hunter and told We Who Serve his theory. We Who Serve told Bulk to go after the thief and get the stolen item back. Bulk theorized that the thief possibly needed to a large building where there are many places to hide. We Who Serve reluctantly told Bulk that the thief could be hiding in the city's main power plant. Bulk left to find the thief there, where the thief was discovered to be Core Hunter. However, Bulk failed to catch Core Hunter, as Core Hunter destroyed the power plant to get away. We Who Serve noticed Core Hunter stealing a ship and using it to get out of the planet, so they told Bulk this. The incident embarrassed the city's people, so they extremely improved their security, becoming hostile to visitors to the planet, including Heroes.[SM1]

Abilities and Traits

We Who Serve is a trio of short, blue, humanoid-looking robots. Like people in their planet, they have antennae mounted on their heads that flash bright light to communicate with people, and they do this rather than speaking. A Hero has to use a device called a Translator, which has a mechanical voice that speaks, to translate what We Who Serve is saying. We Who Serve talks in unison. They are polite to visitors. We Who Serve manage the bank, and are protective of the items that the vault stores. They have access to the vault, and they can pass their right hands over a bare patch of ground to open the underground hatch to the vault.

We Who Serve have a pocket scanner that has a list of items in the vault.[SM1]
