The Story page during early 2011

Story was a section on HeroFactory.com. During 2010-2011, this section was linked to several of the story-related features, such as the website's "Call Center", "Media Center", bios, weapons descriptions, and comics. The Call Center allowed fans to submit imaginary missions for Hero Factory, and advertised an automated phone number that fans could also call to submit new missions. The Media Center contained brief descriptions of past Hero Factory missions, as well as the Hero Factory FM podcast. It also linked to an information page about Hero Factory.

The early 2011 version of the website featured a brief description of Mission: Von Nebula, and the late 2011 version featured Mission: Ordeal of Fire.

In 2012, the Call Center and Media Center were removed when the website was updated with 2012 content.

In 2013, the section itself was removed when the website was updated with 2013 content. One would have to reply on the bios to understand the 2013 story arc.

When the website got updated in early 2014, a new version of the section was released as a part of the website’s new Universe section, which was also a section of the website’s Explore section. It had information on bios, Battle Machines, weapons, and canisters. When the website got updated with late 2014 content, the information was updated with new content, though some of it replaced the old content a little. It featured cocoons.

As of the summer of 2010, the story section featured a brief summary of the story. This continued through 2011 and 2012. The early 2014 version of the section summarized the first half of the plot of Episode 11: Invasion From Below. The late 2014 version summarized both halves. In the early 2014 version of the Story section, when you switched from the page with the plot summary to another page, you started with Chapter 1, and you would go to the right to reach Chapter 8. When the Universe's Story section was updated with its late 2014 version, instead of starting with Chapter 1, you started with Chapter 18, the last chapter, because the chapters were placed backwards for an unknown reason. Each of the Chapter had a quote from the episode on the top and the Chapter's summary on the bottom.

The website’s News section had similar story-related content to the Story section in 2010-2012.

Galactic Threat Alert - Von Nebula and his henchbots are on the loose!

Heroes are being dispatched from Hero Factory (located in Makuhero City) at an ever-increasing rate. There has been an elevated level of villain activity recently, which Hero Factory analysts suspect is being masterminded by a nefarious villain named Von Nebula. Very little is known about this shadowy figure, but it's clear that his henchbots - including the fiery XPlode, the acid-flinging Corroder, loudmouth Thunder, radioactive Meltdown, and flying giant Rotor - have been bolder in their criminal activities. Reports of their mischief have been flooding Hero Factory's Call Center, and the operations center is diligently deciphering patterns to their raids and thefts so their location can be anticipated. It's clear there is a bigger plan than this rowdy gang simply stealing and blowing things up, but Hero Factory analysts are confident they will be able to figure out what Von Nebula is up to.

In the meantime, citizens on planets around the galaxy are urged to be on the lookout for any unusual activity in their vicinity, and to call Hero Factory immediately if they see any trace of Von Nebula or his gang of thugs. These nasties are considered armed and extremely dangerous, so don't try to apprehend them yourself! Only Heroes from Hero Factory are intensively trained and equipped to face down powerful villains such as XPlode, Corroder, or Von Nebula himself.

The Hero Factory designs, builds and dispatches robot heroes to fight villains, solve crises and restore peace across the galaxy – 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. The Factory is situated in the amazing Makuhero City, a modern, sprawling metropolis with a rich multitude of neighborhoods, and home to millions of living robots.

We build heroes." – Hero Factory 'Foundation Pledge'

Mission List

Mission: Imposters

Team: Rho 3

Location: Etamin II

Team Members:

Team leader Eric Zeal, Kelly Deep, Rosalie Brisk, Michael Crisp

Objective: Discover the identities of Hero Factory impostors on Etamin II.

Mission Report:

Having received word that a number of systems neighboring Etamin had banned Hero Factory robots from entrance, Rho 3 team was dispatched to investigate. On Etamin II, the team was shown evidence of disastrous acts of either sabotage or incompetence on the part of Hero Factory, resulting in the destruction of a national landmark and the escape of three dangerous criminals. Zeal produced evidence that no Hero Factory teams had been dispatched to the planet before, but the worlds of the Etamin system were still prepared to support the ban. Rho 3 was given 16 hours to prove Hero Factory’s innocence.

Subsequent investigation reveals small group of malfunctioning cleaner bots who idolized Hero Factory had been claiming to be a new hero team. Their enthusiasm combined with a lack of training or intelligence resulted in their “missions” turning into disasters blamed on Hero Factory. After proving Hero Factory was not responsible for the incidents, Zeal agreed to take custody of the cleaner bots. They are now employed at the Hero Factory facility in Makuhero City. Bans on Hero Factory activity reversed.

Mission: Guard the Princess

Team: Zed 4

Location: Seginus

Team Members:

Team Leader Rachel Dodge, Matthew Flare, Lily Fox, Ian Grey

Objective: Guard the Suzerain of Seginus on her tour of outer provinces.

Mission Report:

The outlying provinces on the planet Seginus have been at war for well over a century. A recent peace treaty has ended hostilities and the ruling Suzerain wished to tour the war-torn areas. Zed 4 team assigned to serve as bodyguards, a job made more complicated by the fact that, on Seginus, a Suzerain must be a person utterly without fear.

After saving the Suzerain from a swamp full of ice serpents, an acidic cloud creature, and a volcanic eruption, team leader Dodge got the ruler to admit she was actually terrified of danger but felt she had to put herself in perilous situations to keep her people's trust. During a meeting with warlords of the two provinces, Dodge had her team fake an avalanche and arranged things to appear as if the Suzerain had saved the lives of the Hero Factory agents. This had the dual effect of increasing the Suzerain’s confidence and making her look like a strong leader in front of the warlords.

Mission: Almaak IV Disappearance

Team: Alpha 1

Location: Almaak V

Team Members:

Team Leader Preston Stormer, Dunkan Bulk, Jimi Stringer

Objective: Discover cause of the disappearance of planet Almaak IV.

Mission Report:

Officials of Almaak V reported that Almaak IV had mysteriously disappeared. There were no signs of any natural phenomena that could account for the incident. Almaak V population was on the verge of panic, with many predicting the end of the world.

Initial investigation revealed no clues to the situation. Almaak V government blamed disappearance on a new weapon supposedly invented in Prima Giedi star system. Stringer noted that Almaak IV’s moon was still in its normal position, indicating that the planet itself must still be there, but cloaked. Using his mastery of sonics, Stringer was able to shut down the holographic projection system that hid the planet. Stormer discovered the entire incident had been masterminded by forces in the Almaak V government who wished to provoke a war with the Prima Giedi worlds. Those responsible have been arrested.

Mission: Yequee Particle Removal

Team: Mu 19

Location: Yequee gas clouds

Team Members:

Leader Emma Sage; Rookies Nate Slick, Geneva Mills and Neko Scott

Objective: Neutralize Yeq particles that damage pods and block galactic communications

Mission Report:

Routine but essential training mission. Yeq particles of the Yequee gas clouds, which span 14 million miles of galactic space, present a serious hazard to both travellers through the area and communications. The Yeq particles stick to the sides of pods and have an accelerated rust effect, eating away at all manner of precious metals, plastics and fibres in a manner of minutes. Web-like strands can also form between particles which trap or bounce communication beams, and block emergency calls to the Hero Factory. They also hamper communications between Hero Factory and teams on mission.

Mission: Dragons!

Team: Epsilon 4

Location: Planet Earth

Team Members:

Team Leader Lanford Puck; Azar Wright; Gil Driver

Objective: Dragon removal and relocation

Mission Report:

Responding to an emergency call on the 1-888-4-HEROFACTORY number, Mission Manager Zeta dispatched Epsilon 4 Team; a newly minted group of heroes with experience handling mythical and medievel creatures.

The team encountered the beast not far from the original sighting point - a high school in the North American region of the planet. Belying its brutal reputation, the dragon was found asleep in a small wooded area and easily contained. Damage to the surrounding area was minimal. Team Leader Puck reported slight damage to a nearby industrial estate and parking lot. Heroes performed routine sweep of surrounding area before returning to the Factory.

Mission: Fire Sprite Suppression

Team: Rho 14

Location: Android Relaxation Grounds Castle

Team Members:

Team Leader: Matthew Flash; Hailey Quick; Maddison Swift

Objective: Rescue vacationing robots from annoying fire sprites

Mission Report:

Thousands of tiny fist-sized plasma beings known as Fire Sprites unexpectedly swarmed over the Android Relaxation Grounds castle, cutting hundreds of vacationing robots off from escape. The sprites gnawed on power cables, cutting the castle off from outside communication, so it was several hours before someone was able to notify Hero Factory. The team sent were trained in swiftly rounding up such pests, and they ran circles around the pesky sprites. The Heroes managed to capture the last sprite within just two hours. They even cleaned up the scorched holiday facilities.

Mission: Pirates of the Constellations

Team: Delta 9

Location: Space Station Regular 1

Team Members:

Team Leader: Lucas Valor; Emily Wise; Nathan Slick

Objective: Free station workers taken hostage by pirates

Mission Report:

Ruthless space pirates, led by the infamous Captain Dark Horrendous, boarded the space station and held 15 workers for ransom. Rather than give in to their outrageous demands, the Hero Factory was called, and Team Leader Valor took the pirates by surprise. Because of the fragility of the space station walls, no energy weapons could be used, so the Heroes engaged the pirates in hand-to-hand combat with microfilament sabers and beanbag blunderbusses. The pitched battle ran throughout the entire eight levels of the space station, with the untiring Heroes forcing the vicious pirates back at every move. Finally, after being cornered in the sub-basement, the pirates surrendered when Emily Wise turned off the lights and scared the pirates into submission.

Hero Factory Announces Upgrades

Released on January 10, 2011

The founder of Hero Factory, Mr. Makuro, made an exciting announcement today.

"My friends, thank you all for coming. I am here to announce the most important innovation in Hero Factory history... the upgrade," he told reporters at a standing-room-only press conference.

Two new Heroes were unveiled during Mr. Makuro's speech: Nex 2.0 and Evo 2.0. Their new build has enhanced strength and agility, along with amazing flexibility and hypersensitive senses. Existing Heroes will be retrofitted with the new system over the coming months, as soon as it's safe, said Mr. Makuro.

"It's less complex to build new Heroes with the new framework than to upgrade those in the field," he said. "That includes training. For now, the current crop of Heroes are keeping the galaxy safe just fine."

Villain Update: Depot on Fire!

Released on January 24, 2011

News flash: word has reached Hero Factory of a new crop of villains on the loose, who have just attacked Hero Factory's Tanker Station 22, located in deep space.

Veteran Alpha Team leader Stormer and newly-promoted Heroes Furno, Breez, and Surge were immediately dispatched to the fuel depot. Amid explosions, chaos, and attacks from villains, the Heroes were able to rescue all depot station workers. Apparently their efforts to capture the villains have been less successful... most of the Heroes returned battered, singed, and empty-handed.

Mark Surge is missing in action.

The villains have been identified as Fire Lord, leader of the group; Drilldozer, a heavy-duty mining bot; Jetbug, who brings fire from above; and Nitroblast, an explosive character.

At last report, Stormer was in a top-level meeting with Mission Chief Zib and Mr. Makuro himself. Unconfirmed reports indicate Stormer is demanding a systems upgrade, but Zib is resisting, concerned the process isn't quite ready.

Upgrade News: Stormer becomes Stormer 2.0

Released on February 7, 2011

It's official: Stormer has been upgraded to Stormer 2.0! He's not the only one... Furno and Breez have also undergone the upgrade process, and are both designated 2.0.

Sources have indicated the upgrade was not without its problems, and the Heroes are having some problems adjusting to their new bodies, armor, and abilities. But with fellow Hero Mark Surge still missing, there's no time to lose.

Stormer 2.0 has no time for training. "We got our cans kicked by some hotheads up there," he growled as he ran past this reporter. "That's not the way a Hero rolls."

As the Hero pod streaks into the sky on its way to the fuel depot, all eyes in Makuhero City track along the thin white line high above, hoping for the best...

Mark Surge Found!

Released on February 21, 2011

Even as the upgraded Heroes battle against their fiery foes, they've let Hero Factory know their companion Mark Surge has been found! The news was greeted by cheers from the entire Hero Factory staff, and echoed throughout Makuhero City.

Details are scarce, but it appears the battle for control of Tanker Station 22 is continuing. The fierce conflict wages back and forth across the extensive orbital structure, and long range cameras continue to follow the battle from a nearby space station. Several outlying fuel tanks have been ruptured and have exploded, but the distillation plant and main fuel tanks remain intact.

Will the upgraded Heroes be strong enough to overcome their explosive enemies? More news as the drama continues!

Can the new models tip the balance, and defeat the villains from sucking up all the fuel in the depot?

Upgraded Heroes Return Victorious!

Released on March 21, 2011

Recent upgrades to several Heroes are directly responsible for the defeat of four fire-throwing villains who recently invaded Hero Factory Tanker Station 22, according to a press release. Stormer 2.0, Furno 2.0, Breez 2.0 were joined by Nex 2.0 and Evo 2.0, and together they vanquished the fiery villains who were intent on sucking up all the depot's fuel.

Hero Surge, after some very stealthy work, helped save the day, and is currently being upgraded to Surge 2.0.
