Cocoons are casings designed to house infant Jumpers before they are born.

History

The cocoons are produced by the Queen Beast, and are where Jumpers emerge from once they are born.

During the battle for Antropolis City, the queen and the Jumpers also used the cocoons to imprison at least four captured civilians and three captured Heroes, Preston Stormer, William Furno, and Mark Surge, for storage while the Beasts waited to feed on them. However, many Heroes in the city, including Daniel Rocka, Dunkan Bulk, Natalie Breez, and Nathan Evo, freed the captives from the cocoons.

In the climax of the invasion, the coccons were all flushed down the acid pool at the bottom of the Jumpers' cavern. However, one lone green cocoon survived, somehow hidden away in Alpha 1 Team's Drop Ship for an unknown reason.[Episode 11]

Features

The cocoons are a porous substance that nonetheless can contain a being suspended in a paralyzing fluid until they are ready to come out. When a cocoon is closed with a being inside, it opens itself up at any time, letting out a gas. Each cocoon has three leaf-like parts with holes on them, and they are connected to the bottom of the cocoon. The Queen Beast can contain a cocoon on her rear end.

There are three different kinds of cocoons, each being distinguished by a color. There are red, green, and blue cocoons. The cocoons' goo and gas match the cocoons' colors.

When the Jumpers are born in their cocoons, they can come out of their cocoons. They also use the cocoons to sleep.

When the cocoons are used as prisons for robots, they will become unconscious and unable to get out of the cocoons on their own when they are in there. Others have to open the cocoons to free the robots. When a Battle Machine pilot Hero was trapped in a cocoon for so long before being freed, he or she can become so weak that they would need the Evo Spider Machine's canister to get healed.

Set Information

Cocoons were featured in the second half of 2014 sets, with each set except for 44024 Tunneler Beast vs. Surge containing one, and came in three different colors. They were comprised of four different pieces; three separate leaves joined by a fourth connecting piece. The leaf pieces were a rubbery substance ending in hard plastic, allowing them to be peeled back to store a Jumper or Hero minifig inside. In the Tunneler Beast set, the Tunneler Beast has one cocoon leaf.
