The Skull Staff was the staff formerly used by Witch Doctor. It was inadvertently created by Aldous Witch after he discovered a stone skull in an ancient temple on the planet Quatros while illegally mining Quaza. Witch mounted the skull on a staff and put a sliver of Quaza into it, amplifying the power of the Quaza and giving the staff the power to control any organism infected with corrupted Quaza. Witch himself was transformed by the staff's power, mutating and enlarging the former instructor into a form called the Witch Doctor, and corrupting him.
During the duel between Witch Doctor and rookie Hero Daniel Rocka, the staff was stolen by Preston Stormer, rendering Witch Doctor powerless and leading to his arrest. This also freed his animal slaves from his control, rendering their corrupted Quaza spikes useless. Stormer snapped the staff in two to destroy it.
Functionality
The staff had two corrupted Quaza spikes, and the skull was in between the spikes.
The staff could allow Witch Doctor to use the corrupted Quaza on it to enhance his speed and strength. Rocka's XL 3.0 form was strong enough to fight Witch Doctor when Witch Doctor was enhanced by the staff.
The staff could shoot energy beams. When this happened, the Quaza spikes around the skull gave their energy to the skull, and then the skull used the energy to create an energy beam and then shot it at the Witch Doctor's target. The beams could give Witch Doctor's commands to his enslaved Quatros animals by striking at their corrupted Quaza spikes after Witch Doctor implanted the spikes on their bodies. Once the energy beam hit the spike, it would cover the animal's head and then its whole body in order for the mind-control to work.
The energy beams could also recharge the spikes to allow Witch Doctor to keep his control on the animals. If the spikes are no longer active or if the active spikes are removed from the animals, Witch Doctor could no longer control the animals, as the animals would be completely freed from his control.
The energy beams could possibly be used to corrupt an uncorrupted piece of Quaza to mind-control beings that the Quaza is attached to, like the Heroes' Hero Cores. However, a Hero, like Preston Stormer, could possibly use his or her willpower to resist the effects of the staff, and if Witch Doctor was distracted by something, the Hero is freed from the effects.
The Staff could be used to make the animals' spikes glow without shooting energy beams at them, as the Witch Doctor would give a command to his animal slaves. The staff could also use the skull to allow Witch Doctor to see what his animal slaves were seeing.
When Aldous Witch constructed the staff, it amplified the power of the Quaza in it and mutated him into the Witch Doctor and corrupted his mind.
When the staff was taken away from the Witch Doctor, this caused him to lose his powers and all of the enslaved animals to be freed from Witch Doctor's control, rendering the corrupted Quaza spikes useless. However, the Witch Doctor is still keeping his mutated form and is still evil. The Witch Doctor was seen carrying a crate with both hands empty while his animal slaves were still controlled by him before his staff was taken away.
Example Usage
In Episode 6: Savage Planet Part 1, Witch Doctor used the Skull Staff to enslave the various beasts of Quatros, forcing them to act against their will.
Set Information

Trivia
- In Episode 6: Savage Planet Part 1 and Episode 7: Savage Planet Part 2, the Skull Staff's skull is floating above where it is connected for an unknown reason, though it is still in between the staff's Quaza spikes. The skull is covered by black mist.
