Savage Planet 2 is the seventh comic in the Hero Factory series, and a direct sequel to Comic 6: Savage Planet. While Comic 6 was based off the script for the sixth television episode called Episode 6: Savage Planet Part 1 and the first half of the episode, Comic 7 was based off the second half the episode and the whole seventh episode called Episode 7: Savage Planet Part 2. It was made by LEGO, and published by DC Comics. It is also the last comic to be based on an episode.

Plot Summary

It begins with where Comic 6 left off. The Heroes are cornered by a Scorpio (rather than a Fangz in Comic 6), a Raw-Jaw and a Waspix on Quatros. As they feel that they are about to be attacked, the beasts turn around and leave, to the Heroes' confusion. When Rocka, who got 3.0 armor, returns to them, Stormer decides that they must split up in to two teams. He puts Furno in charge of Nex and Stringer, and Rocka in charge of himself and Bulk. Whilst discussing this, Witch Doctor is forcing the Raw-Jaw to mine more Quaza. The heroes find a teleportation unit that the miners use to travel from one part of the planet to the other. Rocka states that the tunnels could be unstable, but is adamant that his team should be the ones to travel through them. Furno agrees, and takes Nex and Stringer the long route.

As they leave the teleporter, Rocka's team realize that they have been shrunk, and send a message to Furno, asking his team to come and assist them. Furno cannot travel with his team to assist, as they are in battle with the beasts. Rocka's unit notice a corrupted Quaza spike on the Raw-Jaw's back. Rocka and Nex realize that Witch is controlling the beasts by using corrupted Quaza. They then proceed to snap the Quaza spikes off of the beasts' backs, which turns them back to normal.

Furno's team runs to find Rocka's team and Witch, whom the Scorpio begins to fight. Nex attempts to turn Rocka, Bulk and Stormer back to normal size by rewiring the teleporter. They step in to it and it returns them to normal size. As this is going on, Stormer is fighting Witch, and the other Heroes join in. It is not working, so Rocka upgrades with ancient armor pieces to have an XL form, and begins to take Witch on by himself. He knocks Witch down, but they realize that the planet is destroying itself from the inside. Furno decides to use Bulk's strength to propel himself in to the air and destroy the mining machine, which drops the Quaza back in to the planet.

Once the planet is safe again, Stormer tells Furno and Rocka that although they were rivals, they worked the best whilst working together. They then returned to the Hero Factory, and left the planet to return to normal.

Trivia

  • The comic was released in November 2011 while Episodes 6 and 7 were released in September 2011.
  • At the end of Comic 6, a Fangz is with the Waspix and Raw-Jaw, but in Comic 7, it is the Scorpio who is with them. This is to be consistent with Episode 6.
  • The Heroes and Witch Doctor's hands have five fingers per hands instead of four in this comic, to match their sets.
  • The Skull Staff in Comic 7 looks more accurate to its set form than itself in Comic 6.
  • The comic is the only comic to not be based off a script of an episode while it is being based off the episode itself instead for an unknown reason. It is the last comic to be based off an episode. Two main comics after it have non-canon stories based on Hero Factory's Breakout story arc in 2012 for an unknown reason.
  • The comic has some differences from the episodes:
    • The comic is a short version of the episodes, as it does not have Nathaniel Zib, Quadal, and the Fangz, despite a Fangz being shown in the comic's cover.
    • The comic has a scene where Rocka's unit notices a corrupted Quaza spike on the Raw-Jaw's back. It is unknown why this was not shown in Episode 7.
    • In Episode 7, Stringer frees the Waspix from the Witch Doctor's control by removing its corrupted Quaza spikes from it, but in the comic, it is Nex who used his weapon to blast the spikes out of the Waspix to free it.
    • In the comic, it has a scene where after Stormer stole the Skull Staff to weaken the Witch Doctor, Rocka XL punches the Doctor in the torso to knock him down to the ground to defeat him, and while the planet is breaking apart, the Doctor tells the Heroes about it. Episode 7 did not feature this for an unknown reason.
    • In the comic, when Stormer is congratulating Furno and Rocka, Rocka is in his XL form, but in Episode 7, Rocka is back to his normal 3.0 form when this happened.
    • The comic has a scene where the animals, who are freed from the Witch Doctor by not having the corrupted Quaza spikes, witnessing Quatros being healed. It is unknown why this was not shown in Episode 7.
    • Many quotes in the episodes are different from the ones in the comic.
  • The back cover promotes the Savage Planet DVD.
