Fangz are techno-organic hound-like pack animals native to the jungle planet Quatros.

History

At some point, the Fangz were created. They live in Quatros. They normally hunt in packs.

Recently, several Fangz hounds, at least one of the them being a male,^{[Episode 6]} were captured by Witch Doctor, and implanted with corrupted Quaza spikes to serve him. He began using them as his bodyguards, and kept at least two close to him.

When Daniel Rocka arrived on the planet Quatros, he was attacked by a Fangz, though Witch Doctor withdrew the animal, leading Rocka to him. Two more Fangz hounds then attacked and knocked out the rookie Hero.

Rocka, Preston Stormer, and Dunkan Bulk later encountered a few Fangz at Witch Doctor's base when they had been shrunk by a transporter.^{[Episode 6]} They were able to use the terrain to elude and fend off the hounds, but all excluding Stormer were captured by the Witch Doctor. After the three Heroes were freed and restore to their normal size by their fellows, Bulk and Jimi Stringer fought two Fangz. Bulk told Stringer to remove the Quaza spikes from the Fangz. After the Heroes did so, the Fangz thanked the. All of the possessed Fangz were eventually freed from Witch Doctor's control by the Alpha 1 Team. Before Alpha 1 left the planet, two of the Fangz returned to see them off, displaying affection towards Rocka.^{[Episode 7]}

Abilities and Traits

Fangz hounds are very quick and aggressive, capable of bringing down animals bigger than themselves. In a pack, they can bring down almost anything. The sharp spears on their jaws can pierce virtually any material. It is known that they tend to scale trees if they need to. They can jump very high. They are larger than 2.0 Heroes.

Unlike the Waspix, Raw-Jaws, and Scorpio, the Fangz do not seem to speak, as they make noises that are those of Earth hounds instead.^{[Episode 6][Episode 7][FO:MSG]}

Set 2233 Fangz

Set 2233 Fangz was released as a box set in mid-2011, along with the other Quatros animals and Witch Doctor. It contains 55 pieces, including four printed armor pieces and three dual-colored Quaza spikes.

Trivia

• Dee Bradley Baker provided vocal effects for the Fangz in Episode 6: Savage Planet Part 1 and Episode 7: Savage Planet Part 2. In the television episodes, the Fangz have detailed mouths.
