Plot Summary

Jimi Stringer, Dunkan Bulk, Mark Surge and Natalie Breez are heading to a future prison. As Breez reports heading to a medibot station, Surge looks up in fear at the presence of Corroder. Stringer notes that Corroder practically signed his mess. Surge dashes up to help the veterans, but Corroder melts the tie on a group of suspended girders, but Bulk knocks him back, taking the debris from Corroder's attack. After being asked for their help, Preston Stormer replies that he and William Furno must wait until their Hero Cores recharge. In the meantime, Surge tries to free Bulk to no avail, while Stringer distracts Corroder. Furno states that he is ready to launch, and leaves despite Stormer's warnings. Breez attempts to make it back in time to provide backup, but isn't fast enough. To avoid decimation, Bulk, Surge and Stringer link cores to form a Hero Cell, a protective force-field.

After flying towards Corroder, Furno ejects from his Hero Pod, and lands a surprise kick on Corroder's face. Corroder tries to shoot down the rookie, but misses, and gets another kick to the head. Furno bluffs that there are more Heroes in the newly arrived Breez's ship, and asks if Corroder can handle that. Corroder replies that it doesn't matter, and uses a smoke screen to cover his escape. Bulk thanks the rookie for his help, and Surge reports back to Stormer. The Alpha Team leader thinks they are being played, and Furno wonders by whom.

Corroder is seen alone in a dark room. He reports that he caused much destruction, but was not ready to face so many heroes. Von Nebula corrects him that Furno tricked Corroder, knowing that Corroder has been deceived, and notes that Furno was taught well. The villainous leader then instructs Meltdown to do some more damage. Meltdown accepts, boasting the heroes will not be able to stop him. Von Nebula is satisfied and claims that by the end of the next day, Hero Factory will be destroyed by a completely unsuspected enemy: Preston Stormer.

Trivia

  • This comic was included as individual pages in the September–October 2010 issue of LEGO Club magazine. It was released on September 1, 2010 while the television episode that it is based on aired on September 21.
  • The printed version of this comic contained an error on the last line, where Von Nebula claims that Hero Factory will be destroyed by "William Stormer", William Furno's first name and Preston Stormer's last name. The plot was later revealed to be about Preston Stormer, and the online version of the comic was altered to say "Preston Stormer" instead of "William Stormer".
  • In the cover, Corroder has hands in his Acid Blasters, but in his set and other media, he does not have hands, and the Acid Blasters act as them.
  • Like the first comic, this comic has some differences from the episode:
    • The comic is a short version of the episode, as it did not feature Nathaniel Zib, Quadal, Corroder's flying vehicle, or the scene where Stringer is talking about Stormer's mission in New Stellac City.
    • There are two scenes that were never in the episode for unknown reasons. Both came after Corroder's defeat. The first one is where right after the Alpha 1 Team picks up Bulk from the ground, Stormer is becoming suspicious of XPlode and Rotor's actions in the first comic, and Corroder's actions in the second comic, as he noticed that the villains wanted to destroy the Heroes rather than focusing on their crimes. Bulk and Furno wondering who organized these attacks. This is mentioned in Face Off: Makuro's Secret Guidebook. The second scene is where Corroder reports his actions and defeat to Von Nebula in the shadows, but Von Nebula tells him that Furno tricked him to believe that Furno brought nine Heroes to help him defeat Corroder. Von Nebula recalls the events of the first and second comic issues, and then summons Meltdown to tell him that it is his turn to attack the Alpha 1 Team. After Meltdown responded, Von Nebula declared that the Heroes will fight Preston Stormer. In the comic, XPlode and Rotor's attack on the mining colony was said to have happened last week while the episode takes place right after the events of the first episode, where Stormer and Furno recently put Rotor to prison while Bulk, Stringer, Breez, and Surge were cleaning the mess in Lemus 2.
