Meltdown is a villain who previously worked under the service of Von Nebula.
Biography
Meltdown was constructed on an unnamed frontier world[FO:MSG, p. 107] and was made with the specific goal of engineering a villain by having faulty logic circuits and a corrupted emotional chip.[FO:MSG, p. 14]
As a criminal, Meltdown committed numerous thefts and assaults, along with highly notorious crimes such as destroying an entire major city and sabotaging an iridium mine.[HFPM, p. 10][FO:MSG, p. 14] Meltdown was wanted by the Mekron City police department, run by Hero Factory ally, Chief Drax. The police department placed and offered a reward for his capture.[Episode 3]
Von Nebula
Meltdown was eventually hired by Von Nebula for his attempts to destroy Hero Factory.
After Corroder failed in his attempt to destroy Penitentiary 1331 and the Alpha 1 Team,[C2][Episode 2] Von Nebula sent Meltdown to use malignant nanobots to take control of Preston Stormer, as Meltdown put the nanobots in his tentacle. Meltdown arrived at Mekron City, and infected Police Chief Drax, so that Stormer, an old friend of the chief, would respond to an alert. Stormer arrived with William Furno, Mark Surge, and Natalie Breez, and succeeded in subduing Drax. Meltdown ambushed them from the Drax's police station's skylight. He came down and blasted his nanobot-infested nuclear waste at Furno, forcing Stormer to intercept the attack himself and thus become infected. Meltdown then escaped the city and returned to Von Nebula. However, Stormer was eventually cured of the nanobot infection.[Episode 3][C3]
At one time, Meltdown was imprisoned in a prison asteroid, but he somehow escaped. He and Corroder went to attack the planet Aqua Gamma IV's largest city while Meltdown was on his vehicle, but Stormer and Furno arrived to stop them.(To Serve and Protect - Measure of Heroism )
Von Nebula sent Meltdown and XPlode to help Thunder and Corroder destroy Stormer's team at a final stand in New Stellac City while Von Nebula faced off with Stormer and Furno in the black hole created by his Black Hole Orb Staff. After the black hole disarmed the Heroes, Von Nebula's henchmen pursued them and continually fired their weapons as the Heroes were being chased. However, the Heroes managed to stay out of range until the criminals ran out of ammunition, including Meltdown's nuclear waste. This allowed Stringer to defeat Meltdown. Stringer and Bulk used a metal strap to trap Meltdown and the other three villains. The villains were arrested and imprisoned by the Heroes in the Hero Factory's Village Storage.[Episode 4][C4][Episode 8]
Breakout
Along with every other criminal, Meltdown escaped the Hero Factory in the massive breakout, initiated by Voltix. During the escape, Meltdown fought Surge, who tried to stop him from escaping, and Meltdown used his tentacle to throw him out of the way. Meltdown went on the loose.[Episode 8] Later, he got recaptured.[SM4]
Abilities and Traits
Meltdown is taller than a 1.0 Hero. He has one eye.
Meltdown is completely psychotic, albeit very intelligent, and dabbles in radioactive materials using degraded nuclear radiation in his equipped chemical tanks. Having perfect aim with these materials, he enjoys utilizing them to inflict suffering and death upon his enemies. Like his employer, Meltdown was committed to the destruction of Hero Factory, and the corporation considers him Von Nebula's most destructive minion. A 1.0 Hero would need the rest of his or her team to fight Meltdown[HFPM]
Tools and Armor
Meltdown carries the Radioactive Sludge Shooter, a customized Meteor Blaster which draws from one of the two radioactive tanks on Meltdown's back. He has a very good aim with using the Shooter. Meltdown also possesses a tentacle, which he has for a right hand and can be used like a whip. Meltdown can also use his tentacle to throw his radioactive materials from the other tank. When Meltdown attacked Chief Drax, he put mind-controlling nanobots in his tentacle, and he could use his tentacle to throw them at his target. He threw the nanobots at Drax and Stormer.[Episode 3][C3] Meltdown does not have the nanobots anymore when he fought the Alpha 1 Team in New Stellac City.[Episode 4][C4] The Radioactive Sludge Shooter is confiscated when he is jailed.
Meltdown also had a grappling cord.[Episode 3]
Meltdown has two pincers on both sides of each of his forearm armor pieces.
