Corroder is an acidic criminal that was formerly in the service of Von Nebula.
Biography
At some point, Corroder was built. His life before he became a villain and how he did so are unknown.
During his lifetime of crime, Corroder destroyed public monuments on many worlds, stole numerous planetary treasures, and was sought after for the sabotaging the Cygnia Thermo-Dam,[HFPM] something Corroder considered a high point in his career.[C2]
Von Nebula
He eventually became one of the first villains to be recruited by Von Nebula for his criminal enterprise.[FO:MSG] Corroder was not fond of being Von Neula's henchman, so he thought about replacing Von Nebula as the leader of the gang. However, Corroder obeyed Von Nebula, and planned to find a right moment to strike. At one point, Corroder encountered two Heroes named Dunkan Bulk and Jimi Stringer.
Corroder was sent to destroy the construction site for a new prison named Penitentiary 1331 on Tantalus 5. The workers sent a distress call to Hero Factory, and the factory sent two members of the Alpha 1 Team, Dunkan Bulk and Jimi Stringer, along with a pair of rookies, Natalie Breez and Mark Surge, to rescue the workers and defend the construction site. Stringer, Bulk, and Surge attacked Corroder, but when Surge walked underneath some girders hanging from a crane, Corroder fired his Acid Blasters at the crane's cable, severing it. Bulk shoved Surge out of the way, and was pinned underneath the girders. Stringer engaged Corroder, trying to keep the robot away from his fallen comrade. However, Corroder pressed the Heroes, forcing them to construct a risky Hero Cell to stave off the villain.
Rookie Hero William Furno arrived to help his comrades, outfitted with acid resistant armor to counter Corroder's power. He launched a Hero Pod at him, then discreetly ejected from it, taking Corroder by surprise. Furno gained the upper hand over Corroder, and when a Hero Craft piloted by Breez arrived, Furno convinced Corroder that it was a fresh team of six Heroes. Corroder, not willing to face another Hero team, decided to leave the prison. He used his Hover Bike's key to call it. Corroder announced that the prison will not be opened anytime soon. He then used the Acid Blasters to spray some smokescreen, and then used his Meteor Blaster to shoot it, expanded it onto the whole prison for a short time. When his Hover Bike came, Corroder jumped onto it and then drove it, leaving the prison and escaping from the Heroes.[Episode 2] When he relayed his mission to Von Nebula, the mastermind corrected him that Corroder had been fooled by Furno, as the Hero Craft did not have the team of Heroes.[C2]
At one time, Corroder and Meltdown went to attack the planet Aqua Gamma IV's largest city, but Stormer and Furno arrived to stop them.(To Serve and Protect - Measure of Heroism )
Later, Corroder and Thunder traveled to New Stellac City in large meteors. When they arrived, they fought Stormer, Stringer, and Bulk. Later, after Furno, Surge, and Breez arrived at the city, Corroder and Thunder ambushed them. Then, XPlode and Meltdown arrived in meteors, backing up the two villains. The four villains attacked the three rookie Heroes, but Stormer, Stringer, and Bulk saved the three rookies. After Von Nebula took away the six Heroes' weapons and gadgets, Stormer and Furno confronted him inside the villain's black hole base while the other four were fighting his henchmen. The villains pursued the Heroes, but Alpha 1 stayed out of range, and eventually launched a counterattack. Corroder and the other criminals ran out of ammunition in their weapons, so they were defeated by the four heroes, as Breez threw Surge at Corroder, and then Surge defeated Corroder. The four heroes used a metal strap to trap Corroder and the other three villains. The four villains were arrested and imprisoned by the Heroes in the Hero Factory building's Villain Storage.[Episode 4][C4][Episode 8]
Breakout
After the villain Voltix triggered Von Nebula's Black Hole Orb Staff, causing the Breakout, every villain imprisoned, including Corroder, escaped and went to various places in the galaxy.[Episode 8] It is unknown if Corroder got his chance in leading Von Nebula's gang now that Von Nebula is not with them now. Later, Corroder got recaptured.[SM4]
Abilities and Traits
Corroder is taller than a 1.0 Hero.
Corroder is smart, and habitually laughs when he fights.[Episode 2] He aspires to be a leader, and was not content to serve in a subordinate position under Von Nebula. However, despite his flippant attitude, he also knows when to keep quiet and when to bide his time until he is ready to make a move.[HFPM][FO:MSG]
He is capable of spitting an acid from his mouth. He can jump very high.[Episode 2]
Tools
Corroder wields two Acid Blasters and a Meteor Blaster, the latter being attached to his right arm armor. He seems to use the Acid Blasters as his hands. He can use them to move all fours, like a quadrupedal animal. His back armor looks like one of his Acid Blasters. It and the blasters can also be used as shields, as they can deflect Stringer's Sonic Boom Weapon's sonic blasts.[Episode 2] Corroder can use the blasters to scale on girders. He is strong, and he can use the blasters to penetrate through rock and lift girders and construction pipes. Corroder also uses his horn on his helmet in close combat. His Meteor Blaster is confiscated when he is jailed.
He owned a speeder, which he used to escape.[Episode 2]
