The Sonic Boom Weapon is a powerful sound-based weapon.
Functionality
The main component of the Sonic Boom Weapon is a bass-boosting sonic wave emitter, which provides the basis of the projectile. An accelerator then moves the sound waves into the supersonic range. For more power, a treblegun injects higher frequency sound waves into the sonic bass. Small adjustment knobs on the device help the Hero wielding the weapon fine-tune the blast. The sonic blast can be targeted to such an exact degree that the shots can shatter a specific glass on a dinner table.
As an added feature, a guitar or synthesizer can be plugged into the Sonic Boom Weapon, which can then function as a speaker or amplifier for music.
History
The weapon was originally used by Jimi Stringer. However, Dunkan Bulk was also temporarily equipped with one of these weapons to fight Vapor.[S!]
Stringer abandoned this weapon in favor of a Sonic Blaster, which he used during the breakout.[Episode 8]
Example Usage
In Episode 2: Core Crisis, Stringer fired sonic blasts at Corroder using this weapon.
Set Information
The Sonic Boom Weapon is included as one piece in set 7170 Jimi Stringer, released in late 2010. It is also included in set 7179 Bulk & Vapour, where Dunkan Bulk is holding the piece, also released in late 2010. The piece includes both the tool itself and Stringer's right hand. The piece is also Stringer's arm.
Trivia
- In the sets, the Sonic Boom Weapon is hollow and a part of Stringer 1.0's right arm, and its tip is slated to the left. However, in the Television Episodes, it is not hollow, slated, or a part of Stringer's arm. It is made that way in the episodes to be realistic in the canon.
- In Stringer 1.0's LEGOshop.com set description, the Sonic Boom Weapon was called the "Sonic Blaster". In Stringer's Hero Log in Secret Mission 1: The Doom Box, he is said to have used his Sonic Blaster when he was a 1.0 Hero. However, what is said in the book is an error, and that name goes to the Breakout weapon since the Sonic Blaster was not made before the Breakout. The book was meant to say the Sonic Boom Weapon.
