The Evo XL Machine was a Battle Machine used by Nathan Evo.
History
During Mission: Invasion From Below, the Heroes created three new Battle Machines to combat the swarm of Jumper beasts. Evo, whose previous machine the Evo Walker had been destroyed by the Jumpers, was told by Preston Stormer to hang back during the initial combat effort to construct a new machine. While putting the finishing touches on his new machine with the Remote Builder, Evo was contacted by William Furno, who was being chased by a Splitter Beast. Evo engaged the Splitter Beast using the newly constructed Evo XL Machine, combatting the Jumper in the construction site. With Furno's help, the Evo XL Machine eventually felled the beast. However, the Splitter Beast was revealed to be two creatures, and one recovered and kidnapped Furno, taking him underground.
Evo, in the XL Machine, regrouped with the remaining members of his team and traveled underground to rescue their kidnapped teammates. There, Rocka determined that they needed five Battle Machines more suited for subterranean exploration and combat. The Evo XL Machine was dismantled by the Heroes, and Evo replaced it with a newer Battle Machine called the Evo Spider Machine.
Features
The Evo XL Machine was the largest of the Battle Machines, as it is much like a Hero's XL form, like Daniel Rocka's XL 3.0 form, Preston Stormer's XL Breakout form, and William Furno's XL Brain Attack form. It was bipedal. The machine was equipped with numerous offensive capabilities. It had an iron fist. It also had an attached missile launcher with four equipped missiles, as well as a Goo Shooter, which is a variation of the Plasma Gun, for projectile use. Additional connection points were also included, so that it could be loaded with more Battle Machine arms with weapons.
In addition to weapons, the XL Machine featured a rotating torso to provide full battle coverage, a bulletproof visor, an ejectable cockpit, and a canister for capturing Jumpers.
Set Information
Set 44022 EVO XL Machine, which is large, was part of the first half of the Invasion From Below wave, released at the beginning of 2014 (though delayed until March for North America for an unknown reason). The set includes 193 pieces, 18 of which are used for the Evo mini-robot pilot and two included Jumper beasts. The Battle Machine features a ball shooter seen in other Hero Factory sets, as well as a set of flick-fire missiles and translucent elements, including an opening canister. It also features a rotating torso. Arms from sets 44015 EVO Walker, 44017 STORMER Freeze Machine, 44018 FURNO Jet Machine, and 44019 ROCKA Stealth Machine can be placed on the Evo XL Machine to create a powered-up version of itself. Promotional sets 40116 HF Hero Minimodel and 40117 HF Villains Minimodel can also be placed on the Evo XL Machine.

Trivia
- Daniel Rocka originally gave the Stormer Freeze Machine a smaller version of the Evo XL Machine's Goo Shooter-holding arm, but Stormer declined it and had Rocka replace it with an upgraded Freeze Blaster.[Episode 11]
- In Episode 11: Invasion From Below, the devices that surround the cockpit function as flashlights.
- Although the Evo XL Machine never had added arms in the story, it is still possible, according to HeroFactory.com.
