Jawblade is a shark-like villain who was a former member of the Legion of Darkness. He was later among many criminals who escaped during the Breakout, but is recaptured.
Biography
At some point, Jawblade was built. He hailed from the aquatic planet, Scylla. His life before he became a villain and how he did so are unknown.
He frequented a refueling station where Splitface told him about the Hero Factory and how it had captured Voltix, though Jawblade ignored the warning. Jawblade researched on a museum in planet Sigma Pi III, and learned that there is a Viper Squid being held in the museum's aquarium. He wanted to recruit Black Phantom to help him steal precious metals from tne museum, but Black Phantom was not seen for weeks, so Jawblade got Toxic Reapa instead. A night later, the two villains went on a heist in the museum; the two entered through a large pipe that recycles the aquarium's tanks' water. They entered the Viper Squid's tank. Jawblade stayed in the tank as Toxic Reapa stole the precious metals, but Jawblade was attacked by the Hero Jimi Stringer and fled as another Hero named Dunkan Bulk captured Toxic Reapa. Jawblade went to tell Splitface about his encounter with the Heroes.[SM2]
Legion of Darkness
Jawblade was in the station with Splitface, Thornraxx, and Speeda Demon when they were talking about the Hero Factory and how it is making them scared to do their crimes anymore. They were thinking about finding a way to defeat Hero Factory or find another line of work, but Black Phantom approached them and asked about forming the Legion of Darkness. Jawblade accepted and became part of the Legion. Once the efforts of other Legion members led to the Hero Factory shutting down, Black Phantom announced the Legion would then capture Hero Factory's building. Jawblade was shown maps of water systems leading into Hero Factory by XT4 and memorized the information. Jawblade went inside a missile, which was dropped by Splitface and XT4 above Makuhero City into the sea, and using XT4's information, Jawblade swam until he found the wires powering the external defenses and bit them. Though the voltage shocked him unconscious, Jawblade kept biting the lines, allowing Black Phantom and the Legion to proceed. Black Phantom was going to use Jawblade as a tool and let him get captured. Jawblade was dragged out and captured after the Legion failed and placed in Asteroid J-54.[SM2]
At some point, Jawblade escaped from prison, but the Legion was disbanded during the time.[SM2, p. 136]
At one point, Jawblade encountered the Hero William Furno. He stole the Hero's Dual Fire Shooter, and converted it into Magma Blades for his own personal use.
Jawblade was later recaptured by Hero Factory, and this time jailed in their Storage Facility.
Breakout
When Voltix initiated a breakout of the Hero Factory prison, Jawblade was one of the many prisoners set free. During the escape, Preston Stormer tried to stop Jawblade by doing a hand-to-hand fight against him. However, when Nathan Evo was heading to a black hole that the villains were using the get out of the Hero Factory building, Stormer cut the fight short by uppercut-punching Jawblade to stun him for a short moment, so Stormer could go after Evo. Jawblade used the black hole to get away. After escaping, he returned to Scylla, with a plan to collect a rare[HiA] naturally occurring substance called Oxidium. With enough Oxidium, Jawblade intended to harness it as a weapon, but encountered Furno again on the water planet, as Jawblade heard Furno talking from a nautical mile away. Furno tried to throw his Hero Cuffs at Jawblade, but they moved slowly underwater because they are not designed to move underwater, so Jawblade pushed the Cuffs to the seabed. Jawblade fought the Hero through the underwater valleys of Scylla.[Episode 8] Jawblade eventually discovered a chunk of pure Oxidium on the seabed. He collected and threw the chunk at the Hero, rusting his armor, rendering him immobile. Jawblade tried to destroy Furno, but Furno defended himself. When Nathan Evo contacted Furno for advice, Furno told him that he is too busy dealing with his problems. Jawblade figured that Furno was talking to another Hero, so Jawblade told Evo that Furno is going to be doomed. Furno used his harpoon to stall Jawblade. He was able to counteract the effects of the Oxidium using the energies of his supercharged Hero Core, and resumed the conflict while Jawblade freed himself from the harpoon. Jawblade charged at Furno while Furno used his harpoon to take his Hero Cuffs to Jawblade quickly. The Cuffs cuffed Jawblade's left hand and tail, finally defeating him. Furno returned Jawblade to the Hero Factory.[Episode 9]
Alternate Universes
Reality 11275.6
Along with the other Legion of Darkness members, Jawblade was recruited to the inner circle of the Citadel run by Von Nebula. After the Citadel took control, Jawblade was given Citadel authorization for most aquatic thefts.
Recently, Jawblade was attempting to rob a cruise when the prime reality Alpha 1 Team, who borrowed a speedboat, used an electrified suction-cup-tipped arrow with a fine metal wire to stop and capture him. They lied to him that they had already taken over the boat and they were a new crime syndicate. When Alpha Team requested a meeting with the Citadel, Jawblade was chained in a large water tank and given to Alpha Team to signal them that they could meet the Citadel. The Brains killed Jawblade when they were invading and defeating the Citadel.[SM5]
Abilities and Traits
Jawblade is smaller than Furno's Breakout form.
He is an agile and ruthless aquatic denizen, with a fierce temper. Jawblade is specialized in aquatic crimes. He can fight well underwater.[Episode 9] Jawblade is capable of functioning on dry land, but the awkward waddling necessary to do so angers him greatly.
He bears powerful crushing jaws, which are his primary mode of attack and can break through iron.[SM2] His tailfin can harness jet propulsion to greatly enhance his speed underwater. Jawblade is as fast as a shark underwater.[MtH] He can hear something from a nautical mile away.[Episode 8] Jawblade is also outfitted with magma spikes, and his fins are razor sharp.
Weapons
Jawblade carried two blades called Magma Blades, which were a Dual Fire Shooter that he stole from Furno and modified to fit his own use. The blades are confiscated when he is imprisoned.

Trivia
- In the March-April 2012 LEGO Magazine, Jawblade's jaws are called the Power Jaw, and his fins are called the Razor Fins.
- Jawblade was voiced by Steve Wilcox in Episode 8: Breakout Part 1 and Episode 9: Breakout Part 2. In the Television Episodes, his mouth has more details, and his forearms are slightly longer.
- In Heroes in Action, when Jawblade saw Furno undoing the effects of the Oxidium, Jawblade was shocked, and Furno used this moment to cuff him. However, in Episode 9, Jawblade charged at Furno before Furno put his Hero Cuffs on his harpoon and then shot the harpoon to take the Cuffs to Jawblade quickly to have them cuff him. Thus, the information in Hero in Action is non-action.
- Jawblade was featured in posters promoting a movie called Jawblade, a parody to Jaws, in Makuhero City in Episode 10: Brain Attack and Antropolis City in Episode 11: Invasion From Below.
- In some preliminary story documents, Jawblade is called "Depth Charge".[BZPower - Rocka is Fortis and other reveals (October 5, 2024)]
